Q -- How long has Able Furniture Service been in business? We have specialized in furniture repair for more than 40 years. My grandfather, Curt Teicher first opened the doors in 1940. Q -- Do you have samples or a showroom of your work? When an item is completed, it is immediately scheduled for delivery or customer pick up. This, combined with our on-site touch up and repair service, does not allow us to have a showroom full of samples. However, we will provide you with a list of references upon request. Q -- My desk doesn't fit in my car. How can I get it to you? We provide full pick up and delivery services. We also offer on-site repair. Call us at (847) 298-2040 to discuss your particular needs. Q -- My chair is a little loose. Should I wait a while to repair it? A typical chair has at least 20 joints, and each is a potential stress point that may weaken through age and use. If a single joint becomes loose, those adjacent to it will be stressed as a result and will eventually become loose. Loose joints should be repaired before further wear and stress compound the problem. Q -- What is your average turnaround time? Our turnaround times are dependent on the nature and scope of the work to be done. They can range from days to weeks to months, relevant to the complexity of the job. For stripping and refinishing of kitchen cabinets, we average 2 to 3 weeks. Q -- Are you insured? Able Furniture Services protects your furniture while it is in our care. We are insured. Q -- Do you give estimates? Able Furniture Service will provide free estimates for any refinishing and/or restoration work. There will be a charge for insurance estimates. If our quote is accepted, then the charge will be deducted from the total bill. Q -- Why should I use Able Furniture Service?
